99 Nights in the Forest 500-Day Badge AFK Guide – OP Base [Roblox]

Read Time:6 Minute, 36 Second

Now if you’ve been here before, then you already know I tend to go on these Roblox-related side quests because of my cousins’ influence. 99 Nights in the Forest has been my latest fixation due to its simple yet addicting gameplay loop, and I wanna help y’all get those “hard” achievements done.

One of the harder badges to unlock, and currently the rarest, is the one where you have to survive 500 days. It’s actually really easy if you’re already good at the game, as it mainly becomes a test of patience.

If you want an easy way to do this AFK, or at least with very little effort, then I’ve got a base layout for you! Also, I’ve linked a PRO tips video at the very bottom that will help ensure your survival!

The Strategy & Requirements

For this build, you’re going to need a lot of scrap, and I mean a ton of the stuff. The main strategy is that we have to rush through the crafting bench levels and rescue all four of the missing children as fast as possible.

After that, we’ll start building up a wall that surrounds our campfire while leaving plenty of room for farming plots and saplings. By the end, this is what you’ll be working with:

Early Game – Fast Progress

Starting off, you’ll want to get a lot of wood early. Focus on gathering wood for the first 2-3 days in the game, and pick up any scrap along the way if you can.

Plant all of the saplings you get as close as possible to the campfire. Just get them all clumped up to make it easier to chop them all down later. Keep replanting them throughout the game, because you’ll need the wood.

Get your campfire to max level as soon as possible. Once you can make a biofuel processor, plop one down in a way that it’s pointed at your fire so that the fuel immediately gets used. Feed your wood to it for faster progress!

The above early game tips are also covered in my beginner’s guide for 99 Nights in the Forest (or check the video below), specifically in the first two tips there. If you can afford to buy the lumberjack class, definitely get that first. I find it to be the best class overall!

Because of what we’re trying to do here, I want you to save all of your scrap for the important stuff only, which are the following:

  • All crafting bench levels
    • This is essential, because you will be using stuff from every tier.
  • All of the beds
    • This is also important. Without these, your days will progress much slower. Get the next best bed you can make as soon as you have the resources to make it.
  • Map, Sundial, and Compass
    • These will help you rescue the children as fast as possible. I’m doing a casual run as I write this, and as you can see from the screenshot at the start, I still managed to reach day 99 (an official “win”) in just 70 minutes.
  • Crock Pot
    • Normally, I don’t like using this, but it’ll be extremely helpful with the AFKing strat.
  • Biofuel Processor
    • This is extremely important, and I already talked about it earlier. Basically, this not just lets us progress faster, but it’s going to be our way of keeping the fire alive later.
  • Lightning Rod
    • Build one in your camp just to avoid unnecessary damage.

If you can afford it, make a few torches as well. These just make it a little comfier if you need to leave the inner part of your base at night. Now, what about our defenses? Well, it’s not going to involve traps…

Mid Game – Building The Wall

After you have all of the basics down, our next goal is to build wood rain storage cabins all around the campfire. These will act as your wall, and I want you to build them facing outwards.

The open part of the storage should be pointing away from your camp, because this is what keeps enemies away. Here is what your wall should look like, as well as what happens to cultists when they try to invade your camp:

Example of what happens to the enemies when they're stuck at the wall

As you can see, they get stuck in the shed as they try to walk forward as much as possible before trying to jump. Even if they do jump early, the cabin is too high to simply get over, though players can clear it easily.

If you struggle to get over your own wall, simply add another structure outside and use that as a booster. In my case, I have a table from the furniture trader set up outside like this, and I just use it to gain more height when I jump:

Example of one way to enter the base

Do note that you shouldn’t put it too close to the wall. If it’s way too close, the cultists will occasionally use it as well.

These cabins cost 5 scrap each, so don’t even think about rushing an ammo crate in this run. You won’t need it, anyway, especially if you manage to get a morningstar.

Late Game – AFKing at Camp

With a completed wall, all children rescued, and every bed constructed, all that’s left to do is sit in your camp and let the days go by.

To sustain yourself, keep chopping down the trees you planted and use the wood for farm plots. These carrots double as a food source and fuel for your fire. The crock pot also lets you cook stews with these carrots, though you can also just eat them off the ground (stews just make it more convenient).

Even with the cultist debuff at your camp, constantly feeding your biofuel processor with carrots will be enough to counteract the faster life drain and occasional rain.

If you have more scrap to spare, consider making a tiny little bunker beside your fire as well, just to protect yourself from ranged cultists. Their hands will clip through the cabins, and they can occasionally hit you with arrows even while they’re stuck.

Attacking cultists from the other side of the wall

Now, it’s not fully AFK (that’s impossible without botting), but with this method, you can just leave the game running on the side and occasionally interact with it to keep your hunger meter up and to feed the fire.

If the game starts to get a bit laggy or the cultists are filling up the cabins, you might need to clear them out. If they get too crowded, a few cultists will occasionally break into your base. Luckily, you can kinda kill them from behind the wall by shooting their hands.

You can also hug the cabin and attack with a melee weapon. They can also hit you this way, though, so be careful! With a morningstar and good armor, this shouldn’t be an issue at all.

A Closing Note

From here on out, it’s just a waiting game until you reach day 500 and beyond (if you so desire). If you want, you can even start clearing out the stronghold for some ruby chests and diamonds while you’re waiting. It’ll net you a few free diamonds every half hour or so!

Just make sure your hunger never goes empty and keep your fire healthy. Again, monitor the cultists at your walls, because they’ll start pouring through if you let them stack up for too long.

While you’re here, you might wanna check out my tier list for all the classes in 99 Nights in the Forest. Just something helpful to read while you’re skipping through the days and farming up diamonds!
