RuneScape: Dragonwilds – How to Make a Bow

Read Time:1 Minute, 53 Second

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the new survival game made by the same company that made the iconic medieval fantasy MMORPG that it’s named after.

Those who are entirely new to the franchise or are just unfamiliar with some of RuneScape’s mechanics might be a bit confused about how they’re supposed to make a bow, so here’s a step-by-step guide to help you out!

Step #1. Find & Gather Flax

Once you make it to Bramblemead village, the Wise Old Man is gonna ask you to hunt for some deer, and you’ll need to make a bow to do so. To start with, you should find and pick some flax off the ground.

These are blue flowers that grow all around the village, and once you pick one up, you’re going to unlock the plans for the spinning wheel. To make one, you’ll need the following resources:

  • 4x Flax
  • 2x Stone
  • 12x Ash Logs

Gather all of the stuff needed and then build a spinning wheel in your base, assuming you’ve already built one.

Step #2. Spin Some Coarse Thread

Next, using the spinning wheel, you’re going to create some coarse thread by inserting either coarse animal fur or flax. The latter is the preferred resource, as you get one spool of thread per flax, and they’re easy to gather all around the village.

Upon picking up some thread, you’ll immediately unlock new recipes for your crafting table. Among these are weapons for each combat style and some mage armor.

Step #3. Craft the Bow!

With at least three coarse threads and 12 ash logs , you should now be able to make the Ash Shortbow at any crafting table. Congratulations, you’ve fletched your very first ranged weapon!

Don’t forget to make some ammo for it too. A stack of stone arrows can be made with just one stone, a log, and a single feather. Literally just kill one or two chickens and you’ll be all set to hunt a few deer!

That’s all there is to it, really. It’s pretty similar to how you’d do it in the MMORPG, though with a bit of a survival game twist as you’ll need to make and use crafting stations as well.
