Devas of Creation Beginner’s Guide [Roblox]

Read Time:5 Minute, 3 Second

As somebody who actually kinda enjoyed the first few weeks of New World back when it just launched, I just had to check out Devas of Creation on Roblox. It borrows a lot of elements from Amazon’s… well, not exactly a hit MMORPG, but it was definitely something.

I’ve been playing it in short bursts over the past few weeks, and while I have grown to dislike the excessive grinds as you reach the endgame, I can’t deny how fun it can get in the earlier levels. If you’re reading this, then you’re probably looking for some advice on how to start out. Let’s get to some tips you can follow!

DO THE MAIN QUESTS

First thing’s first, you should follow the main questline whenever you can. As long as the objective is doable at your current level, you should do it. These early quests will get you through the lower levels so fast that you’ll skip a lot of tedious mob killing.

Side quests are worth doing only if they have the same objectives as your main tasks. A lot of the repeatable ones have horrible rewards across the board, and the only ones that are actually useful are the quests that have a chance to give you mounts. We’ll talk more about those later.

You’ll probably make it all the way to the 20s by just following it. You’ll hit a wall eventually, and that’s where you’re going to start relying on mobs in the open world for EXP.

REPEATABLE MOUNT QUESTS

One type of side quest that is worth doing no matter what, though, are the ones that can potentially reward you with a mount. This is the only way to get them without paying for Robux, and they usually give you a decent amount of EXP if you add in the fact that you’ll be killing a lot of mobs along the way.

The very first one you can do will come at around the level 20-30 range, and it’s at an NPC named Zorin. To be more specific, you’ll need to do his repeatable “Path of the Rider” quest. Here is a screenshot of the NPC and the possible rewards (yes, the rates are that low, unfortunately):

LEARN TO PARRY

Parrying is extremely powerful in this game, and it can help you defeat pretty much anything that isn’t a player without taking a single point of damage. Although each monster has its own distinct attack animation, they all have pretty much the exact same timing.

Just in case you forgot how to do it or completely spaced out during the tutorial, all you need to do is press the block button (F) just before the enemy lands their attack. Seriously, once you learn how to do this against every monster in the game, you’re set for everything PVE-related.

Yes, this even applies to bosses. Just don’t forget to dodge unblockable attacks, which are always telegraphed with an unnecessarily flashy charging animation.

STR/DEX BUILD IS KING

While I would normally recommend that you just explore the game’s mechanics on your own to figure out what build is right for you, there is no denying that a mix of strength + dexterity will carry you hard in this game.

With DEX getting massive buffs in the latest update, you can now destroy pretty much anything in the game with basic attacks as long as you have the right weapons and aren’t punching up way above your level.

At a certain point, you can have 100% or more crit chance with at least 300% crit power, which makes you an absolute unit that doesn’t rely on cooldowns for damage. With stats like that, you can focus your skill points on purely crowd control abilities (e.g. stuns and slows).

I’m not gonna stop you from trying a magic build in this game, but consider using a bow/greatsword combo for leveling up. You can always respec later on at the cost of faction tokens, which drop from every monster anyway.

BUT DON’T IGNORE NON-COMBAT STATS

One important thing to note is that the most reliable way to get better gear in the game is through crafting. In order to get the materials for weapons and armor, though, you are going to have to gather them yourself cause I doubt you’re a multimillionaire in the game. I mean, you are reading a beginner’s guide, after all.

Always stockpile on resources while you’re roaming the open world. Spend some of your ingame money on better tools in the market to speed up the gathering process, and then just keep doing it until you can start mining/chopping/harvesting the highest tier of materials.

JUST EMBRACE THE GRIND… OR DON’T?

The game is fairly straightforward, so I’m keeping this guide short. My only closing remark is that you should just learn to embrace the grind if you plan on playing Devas of Creation.

It’s an RPG with a lot of repetitive grinding that’s probably more tedious than the games that inspired it. If you find yourself burning out from doing repeatable quests or just plain killing the same mobs over and over again, there’s no shame in just stopping and admitting that the game’s not right for you.

As someone who plays a lot of Runescape on the side, I’m personally very used to mundane gameplay loops, so I don’t mind it as much. Devas of Creation just has such a rough progression system that the developers could absolutely still improve on, because the lack of variety in things to do becomes very apparent the further you get.

At the end of the day, you know exactly what you’re getting into with a Roblox game. The grind is still infinitely better/faster than stuff like Blox Fruits, which is the most popular RPG on the platform. Just stick with these general tips and you’ll be coasting until the mid to late stages of the game in no time!
