How to Find Adamantite Ore in Hytale

Read Time:3 Minute, 13 Second

No, you’re not going crazy. The world generation in Hytale seems to be a mixed bag at the moment when it comes to resource spawns, and this is particularly noticeable with adamantite ore. It took me two worlds and lot of exploration to finally find some, and this guide will show how you’re supposed to do so.

Feel free to correct me in the comments if you have more information on how this works!

How to Get Adamantite Ore

Long story short, adamantite spawns in the scorched biomes full of lava and ash in the Devastating Lands zone. You’ll have to swim to away from the landmass that you spawn in to reach these, and you might have to do a bit of parkour to get to the surface.

Below is an image of what it should look like in your map, but keep reading to see why you might need to explore a bit more.

Why Isn’t Adamantite Ore Spawning?

(NOTE: This seems to be better now with Update 2, but you’ll see more of them underground)

So I did a little digging online and found that something is definitely broken with how adamantite ore spawns at the moment. If you’re reading this close to early access release and you’re struggling to find a single natural deposit of the stuff, you’re not the only one.

I can’t tell for sure if this is an issue with the world generation, but there’s no way a lot of us are just comically unlucky and can’t find a single node in the “correct” biome. You’ll just need to travel further away to a new island if they still don’t show up.

In my current world, I finally found some after going so far northwest that I had to swim through two oceans. Before that, I’ve checked low and high in two different lava islands. I even explored a lush underground jungle with bamboo structures in a volcano biome, and I didn’t find a single deposit despite covering so much ground.

Just like Thorium and cobalt, this ore is extremely common in zones where they’re supposed to spawn. They’re shiny and red, so you won’t have trouble spotting them.

A Few Tips to Survive in the Devastating Lands

Enemies in these biomes are extremely aggressive and hit like a truck. You’ll also have to contend with the terrain, as there will be large chasms and rivers of lava to cross. At the very least, come here with the following gear:

  1. ArmorIron is the bare minimum if you’re not good at avoiding damage. You can easily get overwhelmed by armored skeletons and wraiths here, and there are toads that can throw you into awful positions.
  2. Any Shield – You’ll need one of these if you aren’t avoiding enemies or bunny hopping with a set of daggers.
  3. Thorium Pickaxe (or better) – Adamantite can spawn in or around volcanic rocks, which take a lot of hits to break. As of Update 2 in early access, they’ll require Thorium pickaxes to mine.
  4. Thorium or Cobalt Weapons – It’s just great in general to have a high DPS here, especially with how much skeletons in these biomes love using shields to prolong fights.
  5. Repair Kits – Self-explanatory.

Obviously, you’ll also want to bring the essentials, like healing supplies and torches if you’re checking underground. Bring some platforms too if you aren’t using special attacks to move around.

Finally, bring a teleporter with you. If you find an island with deposits on it, it’s worth plopping one of these down so you can come back whenever you need more adamantite ore. You can always remove it and place it elsewhere if you’ve somehow exhausted the deposits there.
